The Apple costs 32 cents more than the bag. Instead  “apple” we can write “bag+32”.

That is how we get that (Bag+32) + bag = 44 2 bags are 44-32 cents = 12 cents.

1 bag costs half of 12 cents = 6 cents An apple. + bag = 44  -->  Apple  +  6  = 44 --> Apple = 44 - 6  = 38 cents.
